On
October 24th, the U.S.-Panama Business Council held
its annual board meeting. During the board meeting,
the Council appointed Mr. Eugene Renzi new Chairman
of the Board replacing Robert R. McMillan, Partner
at McMillan, Rather, Bennett & Rigano. Mr. McMillan
remains on the Board.
Chairman
Renzi, a retired General, currently served as President
of Mantech International. Under his leadership,
the corporation has been able to respond to worldwide
engineering and technical support requirements during
unique contingency situations such as MTISC’s support
of Operations Just Cause, Desert Shield, Desert
Storm, Restore Hope, and counter-narcotics operations
in North, Central, and South America. Presently
Mr. Renzi has representatives in every country in
Central and South America providing communications
support to United States Embassies, Federal Agencies,
as well as local law enforcement organizations.
Chairman
Renzi has had extensive experience in Panama, Central
and South America. He commanded the largest Army
telecommunications organization of the United States
Army Communications Command. He was responsible
for the security, daily communications operations
and maintenance and support of the U.S. Forces stationed
in Panama, and the telecommunications security and
operational support of the Panama Canal. These positions
required frequent interface and coordination at
the highest levels of the Government of Panama.
As
Panama celebrates its Centennial in 2003, Chairman
Renzi will be leading a number of initiatives that
the Council will be implementing in several cities
of the United States and Panama beginning with an
Expo Conference on Multi-modal transportation to
be held in Panama City on January 27-29, 2003.

Renzi is the proud Father of Rick Renzi, recently
elected to the U.S. House of Representatives representing
District #1 of the great State of Arizona.
